Therapy in the era of Coronavirus (Covid-19)

With COVID-19 precautionary guidelines changing weekly it is important for all of us to find ways to continue to work and engage with others safely. With changing work schedules, schools closed, fear of quarantine and illness, and economic problems, stress levels are high. In this era of social distancing we are all required to find ways to adapt to new ways of connecting and to remain healthy. One important way to do this is to continue therapy as health care providers and clients in the best way that we can.

Because mental health falls under the category of "essential services" we are able to conduct office visits if your circumstance necessitates this. To insure your safety and mine I have purchased HEPA air filtration and bi-polar ionization (PCO) systems for the waiting room and office, capable of neutralizing 99.99% of viruses in the air and on surfaces. We have also installed a new HVAC system with a similar capacity to keep the air free from germs and viruses. We are allowing extra time between patient appointments (typically 30 minutes) for the air to clear, and for disinfecting surfaces and high touch areas between each patient. The bathroom has a touchless soap dispenser and hand sanitizer is available in the office and waiting room.

We are seated over 8 feet apart during our meeting. I have a mask and I have masks available for whoever needs one.

Office Procedures During Coronavirus (Covid-19) Pandemic

Please come alone . Do not bring your children or other family members with you. We are purposely keeping the waiting room empty of people.

If you arrive early for your appointment, please remain in your car until the start of your appointment .

If you have something that feels like a cold or are actively sneezing due to seasonal allergies; or have been exposed to someone who is ill or diagnosed with Covid-19; or not practicing social distancing, please stay home .

In the event you are unable to come in for an office visit for any of the above reasons or just prefer not to right now, online therapy sessions via various video chat platforms or phone is a way to continue to get the support that you need.

Online therapy (tele-health) is held to the same standard as an office visit. Confidentiality remains the same and your sessions will be treated just the same as a face to face session.

Know that we stand with you in these difficult times and will provide therapy services as the current situation allows.
